It’s important that every client understand the role I play in our counseling partnership. I am often the very first career counselor with whom my career counseling clients have ever worked with.  

I am not a psychologist or a therapist; I am a career consultant focused on helping you, as a client, to reach your career goals. My clients say I’m a confidant, consultant, a coach, and a cheerleader, as well as a career counselor, but I think I am really just passionately committed to helping you become the best person – and the happiest person – you can be.

My guarantee has evolved from the fact that I’ve spent my whole professional life helping thousands of people to advance their careers and to prosper. My clients have been helped and are very happy with the results of their counseling programs. But, I cannot guarantee that you will land a new job, a salary increase, or get a promotion. No ethical person can do that.  If any counselor is promising you that they will “find you a job,” or says  “we’ve got all the secret contacts you need” I say RUN, don’t walk, away. No one should guarantee that they WILL get you a job. Ultimately it is you, the client, who must do the work. You must make the phone calls, establish a network, identify prospective employers, send out your resume to the appropriate openings, schedule and go to the interviews by yourself, and negotiate the final salary and benefits package.

I will guide, direct, make suggestions, offer strategic advice, and help any way that I can, but YOU must set the goals and enact the action steps that will help you land that dream job.
